Earlier in October ECSC Chair Vicki White and staff from Edinburgh Leisure met with Gillian Martin, Cabinet Secretary for Climate Action and Energy, to discuss the brilliant work being done together to bring affordable renewable energy to organisations in the heart of the city. It was great to share the success our community led cooperative has had, and to talk about the future.

They met at Craiglockhart Leisure Centre, one of ECSC’s 30 solar PV host sites. Most of the electricity generated is used on site, reducing the leisure centre’s energy bills and carbon impact.

ECSC is working towards our next phase of installations, bringing the chance for local investors – large and small – to become members, get a decent return on their money, help reduce emissions AND generate Community Benefit for local organisations.
